I got 18 muffins. They are great muffins. They will go on repeat. Next time I will use 2/3 the amount of sugar.

No one replied to my question but oddly, when I Googled this recipe, this showed up on the Crosby’s site with a ton of comments – all positive. I think this recipe must appear twice. Anyway, I just made these and it made 18 muffins. I used 6 tbsp oil and 6 tbsp of applesauce to cut back on the amount of oil. They are very moist. I also melted the butter for the topping, as I find it is easier to mix together. They are a hit; I am off to my neighbour’s to drop some off!
