Molasses meatballs are the perfect party food. They’re tasty and so easy to eat when you’re standing.
When I was growing up my mom and dad always had a neighbourhood party before Christmas. Mom would make a great variety of nibbles and all of us kids would be the serving staff. It was great fun to be part of a grown-up party.
My favourite dish to pass was meatballs because they were easy for me to eat as I served. I was also in the habit of counting how many meatballs each guest ate, especially those who ate more than I did.
Molasses meatballs are are an easy make-ahead dish. You can use homemade meatballs or store bought.
Molasses Meatballs

- 3 Tbsp. cider vinegar

- 3 Tbsp. Dijon mustard

Directions:

- Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until the sauce thickens and the meatballs are glazed.

Hi Phyllis,
That is just the greatest story! Thank you for sharing. It’s wonderful for all of us here at Crosby’s to know our molasses has always been part of your life.
I like to have a hard copy of your recipes. Does Crosby’s put out a recipe booklet, & if so how can I get one? Thanking you in advance.
Hi Judi, We’d be happy to mail you a copy of our printed cookbook. Just forward your mailing address to me at bridget.oland@crosbys.com
I am planning to try your recipe for molasses meat balls. What I would like to know is if you have any ideas what I could have with it. It looks and sounds delicious. With thanks.
Hi Leslie, This recipe is good with rice and sauteed red peppers and onions. Steamed broccoli would be tasty with the meatballs too.
