These flaky pastries filled with sweet caramel and apple goodness are a delightful treat. Simple to make and perfect for busy mornings or satisfying your sweet tooth any time.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F.
  2. With a hand blender, purée the pie filling with molasses and cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Roll a sheet of puff pastry into a ¼” thick rectangle about 10” wide and 12” long.
  4. At the bottom of the pastry, mark slits every 3” interval across the dough.
  5. Using the markers as guides, cut the pastry into long strips then fold in half.
  6. Cut along the creases to create 3 even pieces of pastry.
  7. Separately make some egg wash in a small bowl.
  8. Place about 3 tablespoons of filling in the center of the pastry leaving a ½” border around the edges.
  9. Give the borders a brush of egg wash. Take the other half of the dough and gently lay it on the other half with filling. Pinch the edges shut.
  10. Place the strudels on parchment-lined baking sheets topped with egg wash and bake for 20 minutes.
