Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 cups whole white or all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup Crosby’s Fancy Molasses
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Zest of one orange (optional)
  • About 250 g good dark chocolate or a heaping cup of dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. Cream butter with sugar until fluffy. Add molasses and honey.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla and orange zest.
  5. Stir in flour mixture then chocolate chunks.
  6. Drop by tablespoonful onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 9-11 minutes.
