This walnut molasses salad dressing recipe proves that vinaigrette-style salad dressing is quick, easy and always delicious.

Why buy what you can make?

There are lots of things that I don’t make myself, things that I could make (like puff pastry) but I don’t. For many reasons.

But something that I never buy is salad dressing.

I always make my own because it’s so tasty.

And easy.

This is what I call my “house” dressing and the walnut molasses dressing recipe below is for a double batch  so you won’t run out. The recipe is delicious with hazelnut oil too, and almond oil… You could make it using just olive oil, or sunflower seed oil. As for vinegar, try it with balsamic, or red wine vinegar. Try adding a teaspoon or two of Dijon mustard. Add some dried oregano.

See what I mean? This basic recipe can become 10 different salad dressings depending of what you have in your cupboard and fridge.

Walnut Molasses Salad Dressing Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup walnut oil
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup cider vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp Crosby’s Fancy Molasses
  • Generous pinch of salt
  • Fresh ground pepper

Instructions:

  1. Combine everything in a mason jar and give it a good shake.
  2. Store in the fridge.
